I'm the Founder of HIPPEAS. I started my first entrepreneurial venture in college working in youth culture, marketing and events. Since then, I went on to challenge myself across different industries creating some great brands and at times, failing miserably. 

In 2015 I founded Green Park Holdings. Our objective is to build a portfolio of brands with a clear focus on "better for you" natural propositions, operating brands that have lasting social impact and prompt behavioral and cultural change. Our vision is to lead the agenda for positive change in the food and drink industry.  

In 2016 we launched our first brand: HIPPEAS.

What are the 3 highlights of your time as a founder so far?

1. Having two healthy children and a happy family
2. Receiving hundreds of emails daily from happy consumers loving our product
3. Building a stellar team and family culture

 

What personally drives you to build a mission-driven business?

The ability to do good and give back inspires me to stay resilient and continue in this journey during the extreme highs and lows.

 

What was the life-changing event or experience that inspired the idea for your business?

Having worked across personal care and beverage, I knew we could create something unique for consumers in the snack category. The legume is hot right now and it just felt like the right time to bring chickpeas to the market in a modern way.

 

What was the lightbulb moment that propelled you into action to build your company?

I was in a food lab and saw some really innovative snack possibilities made with chickpeas. From that moment on, I decided that was the path we should go down.

 

How has the benefit of the product you've built transformed your own life?

The fact that HIPPEAS provides consumers with a better choice and consumers have been receptive to it, strengthens my motivation to continue to bring more healthy options to market.

 

How can the benefit of the product you've built change the lives of your consumers?

We are giving consumers a healthier snack alternative that is organic, vegan, gluten free, allergen free, high in fiber and protein, low calorie, Non-GMO, sustainable AND they can feel good about purchasing because of our giving back aspects.

 

What 3 pieces of advice would you give to every aspiring early stage founder who is building a business?

1. Know your weaknesses. Surround yourself with experts that thrive in the areas you don’t.
2. Remain resilient. Tough times are going to happen. It’s part of the journey. It makes you a better decision-maker and person in the end. 
3. Keep it simple. If you can’t explain your product/service in 5 seconds, don’t expect consumers to figure it out.
